CLIENT: Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore S1 Cluster
PRODUCT/SOLUTION: Pocket Trips™
With Singapore’s 50th Birthday coming up, the MOE S1 Cluster (comprising 13 Primary and Secondary Schools) was looking for a new and lasting way that would enable not just their students to learn more of their local area but local residents as well.
LDR developed a series of mobile trails that highlighted the history of neighbourhoods such as Ang Mo Kio, Kovan, Serangoon and Hougang.
The trails were launched by the Deputy Director of MOE Humanities Branch Ms Elaine Lim on 16th April 2015. Since its launch, the S1 Cluster trails have been downloaded over 2,500 times and thousands have gone on our trails at their own leisure. Our series of SG50 trails are available on Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ldr.pockettrips.mobile&hl=en
Through the use of our rapid authoring platform, Pocket Trips™, we were able to work with MOE S1 Cluster to develop an interactive mobile trail for the public. Our app allows for the demarcation of significant local landmarks and triggers content (video, images, text etc.) when users on the Pocket Trips™ app are in range.
With our location-based solutions, MOE S1 cluster was able to create a trail that would enable the public to encounter perspectives on what makes a place memorable, to learn of the Singaporeans who have shaped our nation, our achievements and what it means to be Singaporean.
